I realized that I never let you know the final results of the 2009 Carbon Copy Pro 90 Day Challenge.  I thought the easiest way to give you all the details was to post the Press Release regarding it.  Here it is….

Canada (Press Release) February 27, 2009 — Setting goals is crucial to ultimately achieving success. The majority of people still don’t seem to really get this, so I would like to elaborate just a little, if I may. We have probably all heard the saying “if you don’t know where you are going, then how do you know when you get there?” Yes, it might sound a little silly, but if you are honest with yourself, you will realize that there is a wealth of truth in that statement. We have to make goals for ourselves, if we want to succeed in just about anything.

I have been retired from my full-time position as District Manager for Health & Welfare Canada for many years. Unfortunately I did not acquire computer or marketing skills while working full-time. Back in November, 2008, I decided that I was going to fulfill a goal of mine to have an internet marketing business. I did my research thoroughly and chose to align myself with Carbon Copy Pro. I loved that they were a complete marketing system that had been developed to help solve the problems people faced in a home-based business. They provided all the necessary tools for success, and if you can imagine, they even closed the deals for you!

I attended the last Webinar of the series just a few nights ago. The instructor suggested that we record our progress during the 90 day period. That got me to thinking about where I am today compared to where I was back in early December, when we had our first Webinar.

I had never written articles before, I had never produced a video, I had never had a blog, or a Facebook or Twitter account. I had never even heard of some of these things and I had absolutely no presence of the Internet.

So what have I managed to accomplish. Well, I have learned something about writing articles and getting them published. I have written 21 articles to date and have had all of them published on the Internet. In fact, they have all reached the first page of Google and some of them have even been in the number one position.

I purchased a webcam and learned everything I could about making and editing videos. I now have 26 videos uploaded to my own channel on Youtube and I have 41 people actually subscribing to my YouTube channel, so that they can be informed whenever I produce a new video. I started a Wordpress.org blog which I host myself and I am in the process of learning to create my own capture pages. I have also had experience in posting my own press releases. As of today, I have 923 followers on Twitter and 685 followers on Facebook and I have developed many wonderful relationships by networking on these sites.

As for my presence on the Internet, if you type “Jan Shimano” in quotes into Google search, instead of coming up with zero like 90 days ago, you will get well over 5,000 postings about me.

In retrospect, I realize that I have accomplished a great deal during the last 90 days but this is only the beginning. I believe that there is no substitute to getting off on the right foot….it gives a person momentum and I intent to keep moving forward.

I know you have all heard it before, but it’s worth repeating…”if I can do it, anyone can”. I am a 65 year old, retired woman, with no previous computer or marketing skills. If you have the desire to reach your goals, then believe me, nothing will stop you from accomplishing them. You will find tht the right person will come along just at the right time or you will find the right information just when you need it. It is very exciting and I would like to encourage any of you that are thinking of starting your own home-based business to go for it. There is no better time than right now.

My new business opportunity

Tonight is the very last night …. it’s the wrap up Webinar for our 2009 CCPro 90 Day Challenge.

Tonight we will find out who the winners in the following three categories are:

(a)  The person who gets the highest in Google search for the term 2009 Carbon Copy Pro 90 Day Challenge;  (right now it’s neck and neck between myself and someone else);

(b) The person who puts out the best video on Youtube about the CarbonCopyPro 90 Day Challenge (I suppose they will have to look at all of them to make a decision, so not sure if they will do that before we have the Webinar);  I am surprised that so far only a handful of people have bothered to do a video;

(c)  The person who adds the most followers to their Twitter following during the last seven days.

I think competitions like this are fun and they certainly serve another purpose altogether….that is to get you focused on your business and to take massive action.

This is what I have been doing all this week and I am looking forward to seeing the results of the above three mini-competitions.

I have learned so much this week and have stepped outside my comfort zone and tried different things.

Regardless of the results, it has been a wonderful experience.  I would highly recommend the program to anyone that has the opportunity to take it.

So what have I managed to accomplish during this period of time.  Well, I have learned something about writing articles and I have actually written 20 of them and have had them all published with EzineArticles.  That alone would have made me deliriously happy…but I also managed to get all 20 articles on the front page of Google and some were even in the very first spot.

I then purchased a little webcam and threw myself into making videos.  I now have 26 videos uploaded to YouTube and I have 37 people actually subscribing to my YouTube channel, so that they can be informed whenever I produce a new video.  People leave me very complimentary comments and thank me for helping them in one way or another with their business.

I started a Wordpress.com blog but have recently switched over to this Wordpress.org blog which I host myself.  I am in the process of choosing and changing the theme for the blog.  I am also learning to create my own capture pages.  I have posted Press Releases and will be doing another one this week.

I have been retired from my full-time position with the Government for many years.  I had a very responsible job as District Manager for Health & Welfare Canada.  However, I had no computer skills.  My staff were the ones who knew their way around the computers and there was no need for me to learn about it.

Fast forward to November, 2008 when I decided that I was going to fulfill a goal of mine.  That goal was to have my own home-based internet marketing business.  I did my research thoroughly and decided on joining a Company called Carbon Copy Pro.  What I loved about them was that they were a complete marketing system that had been developed to help solve problems most people faced in a home-based business and they provided them with all the tools to succeed.  If you can imagine, they even closed the deals for you!!

I just happened to watch a video of their Convention in the Fall of 2008 and they mentioned a program that they were offering.  If was called the Carbon Copy Pro 90 Day Challenge.  I made a few phone calls and was able to register for this course.  This evening was the last of the weekly webinars.  We will have a wrap up webinar next week, on March 2, 2009.  One of the instructors asked us to record our progress during this 90 day period.
