If you are wanting to brand yourself then it is suggested that you write articles under your own name. Many authors use numerous names because they write about a wide variety of subjects and if they used they own name for all these articles, the readers might not find that credible. We want the reader to believe that we are an expert on the subject, but if we write on everything from soup to nuts, they are not likely to feel that way.

It is also better to write a few short articles than one long one. An article should be between 400-600 words and that works out to be about 8 paragraphs with 3 short sentences in each paragraph.

To show how a person’s presence can grow quickly on the internet I will tell you about the first article I ever wrote. It was just published at the end of December, 2008. Up until that time, I had zero presence of the internet. If you typed my name into Google search, you would get nothing. Now, less than three weeks later, when I type name name in quotations into Google search I get over 2,300 hits.

You might wonder how I was able to accomplish this in such a short time. Well, all it took was for me to write 10 short articles. I had them accepted with EzineArticles and then I submitted three versions of these articles to Unique Article Wizard, which then distributed them to well over 1200 different sites. The rest is history!

This is how you create a massive web presence on the Internet by writing articles. I think it is the best kept secret in internet marketing. The majority of people in this business feel that article writing is just for the experts. However, if you can post a blog then you can write an article. There is very little difference. In fact this very blog has been taken from an article that I had published today with EzineArticles.

So please give it a try for yourselves….I believe you will find it to be so much easier than you ever thought possible.

The main purpose of the Resource Box is to motivate the reader to take action. For most of us, that action would be to have them click on the link to our website.

The following information should be included in the Box:

- your name

- a brief history of your business background

- your current employment

- an invitation to visit your website

Take as much time in creating your Resource Box as you do in creating your article. It is equally, if not more important. It doesn’t matter how great your article is, it will not increase your business if you cannot get the reader off the page and onto your website.

In most cases you are allowed to put a link in the Resource Box at least twice. These would normally go to your landing page. You might also want to mentioned one of your social network marketing sites at the very end, but it will not be clickable.

The Resource Box is your only opportunity to reach out to people and connect with them. Take full advantage of it and see your business grow!

Some people are held back because they are not sure what to write about. My suggestion is, if you are writing purely for pleasure then obviously write about those things that you feel strongly about. However, if you are writing with an aim to generate leads for your business, then it’s crucial to write about subjects that can relate back to that business and your website.

There is really nothing new under the sun to be written! No one person has the patent on an idea. You will find the same ideas are mentioned in numerous articles. The difference is, everyone has their own way of expressing themselves. If you can get over this stumbling block, you will be well on your way to producing articles.

An article for the internet should be between 400-600 words. This works out to be about 8 paragraphs with 3 regular length sentences in each paragraph. Once you start writing, it is amazing how quickly you can punch out 8 short paragraphs.

Your first paragraph should grab your audience. Sometimes the middle of the article is quickly scanned and then the reader jumps to the end. This final paragraph should wrap everything up neatly. My suggestion is that you try to write as you speak, so that your personality comes through in your writing. Some people outsource their articles, but when you do this you cannot possibly create a consistent personality, so I would highly recommend that you give article writing your very best effort, before resorting to outsourcing.

Remember, people are not reading your article to critique your grammar, they are looking for information and if you deliver, they will be happy.
