You might have the smartest looking blog around but that is not going to be good enough to get people coming back again and again. They are not coming to your blog to admire how it looks....they are there looking for answers to questions they might have. If you do a good job in answering their questions, then you have a great chance that they will want to come back again and again. They will probably even sign up for your free newsletters, if you are offering that feature.

Never underestimate the power of your Title. This is your opportunity to really capture the interest of your reader. You want to give enough information that the visitor to your blog is going to know what to expect from your post. You then want to go ahead and deliver what you have promised. Nothing will make a person more annoyed than feeling that they were cheated. People value their time these days and don’t want you wasting it.

The average length of a post is between 300 and 600 words. This translates into about a page of typing. You are not going to be able to go in depth on your subject matter but you still want to provide some substance, so that the reader feels that they have benefitted from spending their time on your website.

Write using a simple style and format. Don’t use fancy terminology that hardly anyone would understand. It’s also important that your spelling and grammar is correct. Don’t only rely on spellcheck. Physically proofread your work, even reading it out loud. When you do this, you get to hear the flow of the post. Write just as if you were talking to the person face to face. Spread things out on the page, so that there is some white space dispersed throughout.

Make sure you have a regular schedule of adding posts. If you have people who have enjoyed your posts and they come back a week or so later and don’t find anything new, they might not try again. Create a plan on how often you are going to add to your blog and let your readers know that if they come back, say every week, then they will find new and interesting material. People have to have a reason to return. It’s not necessary to post daily but posting regularly is.

Make sure that your blog has a section for comments. The idea is to develop relationships so you want to invite your reader to interact with you. You should always reply to all the comments posted on your site. You want to get to know your readers and find out their interests. By doing this, you might even get some new ideas for future posts. Give them what they are interested in and they will come back again and again. Be warm and enthusiastic. Make sure you let them know how you appreciate them spending time to visit your site.

Follow these five suggestions and you will have a blog that people will come back to time and time again.

It seems to have taken the entire world by storm and everyone and their mother is 'twittering'. Initially it was just the kids that thought it was cool but now people are actually using it as a business tool...and very successfully, I might add.

For those of you who are not familiar with Twitter… (and yes, there are some out there, because I went to dinner with two of them last night)… I would like to give a very brief description. Twitter is a way to communicate with others using a micro-message with a maximum of 140 characters. It will give your copy-writing skills a great workout.

When it first came onto the scene, it was used mostly by young people to send small personal messages back and fore to their friends. Forward thinking people began to see potential in this tool, and dreamed up ways to utilize it to enhance their business.

The idea is to follow people. When you do this you get to read the messages they are posting to everyone. If you find one of those people interesting, you can click on their name and, after checking them out, decide if you want to follow them yourself. The idea is to then have these people follow you back. One very neat tool is called Tweetlater. You can set your account up to automatically follow anyone who follows you. You can also create a personal message that will be e-mailed to them thanking them for following you. Here again, you can use your copywriting skills to maximize the opportunity to direct these people to your blog or some other place.

Some folks have well over 10,000 people following them. Just imagine for a moment the power in that. You can send a message in an instant to 10,000 people and suggest something to them. Even if a small percentage of them check out what you are suggesting, it has not cost you a dime. Twitter is free, as is Tweetlater. In fact, the majority of the Twitter tools that are now being advertised, are actually free.

What people in the internet marketing business want more than anything else, is free leads. Social media is leading the way….in fact, it seems to be the only way to get those free leads. Twitter is just one of the tools out there that’s working for many people. A friend of mine, who has quite a loyal following, mentioned an upcoming program launch to his followers. He gave them a link to check it out. Many of them did, they liked what they saw, they bought and within a day or so my friend had made himself over $40,000.00. That’s the power of Twitter.

Another great tool is Twollo. This is also fully automated and it’s allows you to follow targeted people. You enter subjects that are of interest to you and the tool will locate people who are having conversations about those subjects. These people will then automatically start following you. You can set up as many subjects as you like.

You have to keep in mind that not all the people you follow are going to follow you back, so you have to keep an eye on your statistics. Twitter will not allow you to follow more than 2000 people, if you do not have at least 1800 or so people following you. A few times a week it’s a good idea to clean out your account. By that, I mean go in and unfollow all those people who are not following you back. Here again, some very smart person has come up with a tool for that. Go to friendorfollow.com, enter your Twitter name and just like magic, all those people who are not following you back with appear. You can then choose who you want to unfollow.

These a just a few Twitter tools that are available to help you benefit the most from your Twitter account. Each day there seems to be something new to enhance your Twitter experience. It’s a good idea to periodically Google ‘twitter tools’ to see what is the latest and greatest.

Of course, if you are just interested in twittering back and fore with your friends, then these tools would be of no interest to you. However, if you are an internet marketer, looking for a way to generate free leads, then Twitter is where it’s at right now. You want to get yourself in front of all that traffic. Now is the time to build that huge following and take full advantage of the Twitter phenomena.

The question that then begs to be asked, is whether this is a wise decision. If you know any entrepreneurs yourself, then you will agree, that for the most part, they have very big ideas but their budgets don’t quite match. The result of this is that many of these businesses have been very limited in their ability to compete with their larger competitors when it comes to marketing.

That being the case, the new entrepreneur, with little funds to spend on marketing, has to be creative. Enter Web 2.0. Now small businesses can take full advantage of this free avenue of getting their name and brand out there for next to nothing. Web 2.0 comprises of the social networking media. This includes YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo and literally hundreds more websites that are all free.

There are many other free sources. Having your own blog is a wonderful idea and if you use WordPress.com then everything is taken care of for you. However, if you are going to be a serious entrepreneur I would recommend you use WordPress.org and host your own blog. You will then have complete control over it and it’s content. Another free source is article marketing. This article you are reading right now if an example of that.

Sometimes fear or plain ignorance holds a person back. It is important to work on your mindset and get clear as to why you want to have your own business. If you do not have a strong enough “why”, then when the going gets tough, and it undoubtedly will, you will probably not hang in there. As far as ignorance is concerned, this is one of the easiest obstacles to overcome. There is so much free information out there just for the taking. You will have to do a little research on the Internet but you will find all sorts of help waiting for you there.

There are also so many wonderful instructional books. I have an armload of them. Most times I can get my answers just from these. Amazon.com is a great place to check out helpful books. Many are written for the beginner and are presented in an easy to understand manner.

Even though you can become your own boss with very little financial investment, there is still going to be an investment….not of money….but of your time, hard work, perseverance and patience. Yes, this is indeed the age of the new entrepreneur. The experts have gone on record as saying that more millionaires will be created in the next ten years, than at any other time in history. Don’t let this golden opportunity pass you by. Believe it or not, right now at least one in eight households in the States has their own home-based business.

There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. If you would like to see the Company that I have aligned myself with, please go to:

Some of you might have heard a lot of buzz recently about the term “My Story Marketing”. What is is and what can it possibly do for your business? We all have our own personal story and it might be an extremely interested one, but if no one ever gets to read about it, then it’s not going to have any positive impact on our business.

So how do we get our story out there? The main avenue for doing this is through the social network marketing websites. Some of the more popular ones are Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, MySpace and Squidoo. Each one of these has unique features, but they all put emphasis on communicating with other people.

These sites are free to join and within a matter of minutes you can have your own page up and running, without the expense of setting up your own website. You now have the ability to pick and choose your prospects without the fear of rejection.

When people visit your page, you want them to get to know you. The first thing you should do is upload a picture of yourself. This will show at the top of your page. Nothing is more effective that photos, so it is recommended that you also add at least 8-10 photos of yourself. These should show various sides of you. Perhaps a few of you on vacation with your family, playing outside with your children, working in your office or just relaxing in the garden…you get the idea!

There is always a section on all these sites where you can tell visitors all about yourself. This is something that a number of people don’t properly utilize. Here is your chance to tell your story and connect with others. This is your opportunity to draw people in.

Introduce yourself and if you have your own website make sure you let people know what it is. Give them some information on your background…your education, your hobbies your previous jobs, how many children you have (if you have any).

Make sure that you identify a problem that you had in the past and give some details. Explain how desperate you were to find a solution. Don’t be afraid to be personal. There are going to be people reading your bio who will relate on a deep level with what you are saying.

Now you have their attention, you tell them about the solution that you found to your problem. A good phrase to use is “all that changed when….” Here you explain your business and how it has turned your life around.

A final and most important stage to “My Story Marketing” is your call to action. For some reason, people are afraid to ask for what they want. There can only be two responses…yes or no. So we have a 50% chance of getting what we want by asking for it. You want the person to now leave the social media site and visit your website, so just go ahead and ask them to do just that. In most cases, people do what they are asked or told to do and the result for us would then be a possible new lead.

“My Story Marketing” is extremely powerful. It is definitely not a get-rich quick scheme. You are in the business of building relationships. These will take time, just as offline relationships do.

Once you have built up these online relationships and people like and trust you, then and only then should you feel comfortable about introducing them to your business opportunity.

I would like to give you an example of the power of developing relationships with “My Story Marketing”. A friend of mine who had a very large following on Twitter, FaceBook and YouTube, just recently mentioned to his followers an opportunity that he thought was a good deal. He just told them to go look at it. They did, and within one week he had earned nearly $50,000 in affiliate commissions.

This is what’s possible through the power of social networking and developing your story and letting people get to know you.
